For Residents

Our main role as a social landlord is to ensure that our tenants live in a quality and safe environment and that the services we provide meet their needs and expectations

Rent

Rent is a weekly charge paid by residents for the occupancy of their home.

Service charges are made for communal services provided by Mercian and support charges are made for support provided by sheltered scheme officers, a community care alarm or support workers.

Joint tenants are all responsible for the rent, service charge and the support charge where applicable.

Annual Changes to you rent (Spring 2010)

By now all residents should have received a letter detailing your annual rent increase. Your rent is used to manage, maintain and improve your home and community. The cost of providing these services has increased so we need to increase rent to cover these costs. This will ensure we are able to carry on providing services like repairs, improvements and tackling anti social behaviour.

If you would like to discuss these rent changes further or are worried about paying your bills, please contact the Income team on 0121 322 7373 for further information. Alternatively, please visit our Financial Inclusion pages for debt advice.

Mercian Housing Association is committed to offering support and financial advice to all its residents.
