What can Mercian do to resolve the problem?
Mercian recognises that anti-social behaviour occurs because of a number of diverse and complex issues. Wherever possible, Mercian will take action to stop anti-social behaviour happening in the first place, for example, providing activities for children during school holidays or enabling parents to access classes to improve their parenting skills.
Mercian will not apply a ‘one size fits all’ approach and all action plans will be individually tailored to meet the needs of our residents.
While we will not hesitate to take legal action through the courts, we will consider, and use where appropriate, all other methods to tackle anti-social behaviour before legal action is taken.
Mercian’s aim is to stop the anti-social behaviour, not move the issue on.

- Acceptable Behaviour Contracts
- Parenting Contracts
- Family Intervention Projects
- Parenting Orders
- Anti Social Behaviour Orders / Individual Support Orders
- Injunctions
- Demotion orders
- Possession orders
