For Residents

Our main role as a social landlord is to ensure that our tenants live in a quality and safe environment and that the services we provide meet their needs and expectations

Estate Walkabouts & Resident Meetings

Estate Walkabouts

On Estate Walkabouts, Neighbourhood Officers systematically inspect all of our estates, working with local residents and relevant partners (such as police, environmental health officers, wardens and local councillors) to identify and tackle various issues, icluding:

  • Illegal parking
  • Abandoned vehicles
  • Issues of footpath cleaning and grounds maintenance
  • Condition of communal facilities (particularly play equipment)
  • Graffiti

The dates of our Estate Walkabouts are published in advance in Homelife magazine and we welcome your involvement.

Our Neighbourhood Team deals quickly and efficiently with the issues identified in inspections, proactively tackling issues arising from any non-Mercian properties and adjacent land in the neighbourhood.

Resident Meetings

Residents meetings are often informal get-togethers of residents from a scheme or area to discuss general housing-related topics or specific local issues such as improvements, repairs anti-social behaviour and environmental matters.

Please contact your Neighbourhood Officer or our Customer Involvement Team if you would like to know about, or want to start, Estate Walkabouts or Residents Meetings where you live.
