Mercian offers a wide choice of housing options which suit people with varied needs and aspirations

Supported Housing

Mercian's sheltered schemes are located at:

  • Haven Court, The Gardens, Erdington, Birmingham
  • Packwood Court, Manor House Close, Weoley Castle, Birmingham
  • Hawthorne Court, Jenkins Street, Small Heath, Birmingham
  • Oak Court, Bristol Road South, Longbridge, Birmingham
  • Reedswood, Burgh Way, Beechdale Estate, Walsall

The schemes vary in size, but generally the flats are self-contained, with bedroom, lounge, kitchen and bathroom. Some flats have two bedrooms.
All schemes have:

  • Communal facilities eg: lounge/TV room
  • Attractive communal gardens
  • Laundry room
  • Guest rooms

Extra Care Sheltered Housing

Extra Care schemes offer the same facilities as sheltered schemes but are run in partnership with Social Services who provide support from Home Care staff to residents who need just that little extra help. If you would like more information please refer to the Birmingham City Council website.

Mercian has one Extra Care Housing scheme and this is at Cheshire Court, Cat Lane, Shard End, Birmingham. To apply for Extra Care housing you must contact your local authority neighbourhood office and complete the Extra Care housing application form, or speak to someone from Social Services who will assist you with this.
