Mercian provides homes for people who are inadequately housed or homeless and for those who have particular housing needs.
To assess housing need and treat all applicants fairly we use a points system when allocating homes, taking into account the applicant's existing housing conditions, in particular:
- overcrowding
- lack of basic amenities
- medical problems
- social, family or employment needs.
