Bank Accounts
A disproportionate number of financially excluded people live in social housing. Our residents often pay more for services such as utilities because they don’t have a bank account.
The principal effects are that people without any account have no access to savings facilities or reasonably priced credit. This serves to intensify the financial insecurity which low income groups experience.
We will promote access to basic bank accounts through our well established partnership with Royal Bank of Scotland (www.rbs.co.uk) and the Woolwich (www.woolwich.co.uk).
