Following a Special General Meeting on 30th July 2009, where our Shareholders and Board members voted in favour of a formal partnership, and approval from our regulator the Tenants Services Authority (TSA), Mercian officially joined the Circle Anglia group on 1 October 2009.
We feel we can work with Circle Anglia because it understands what Mercian is trying to achieve, shares our values and has the financial strength and capacity to help us realise our business objectives. It will also work with us to help improve services to customers and bring many benefits to our communities.
Resident Involvement
Prior to joining Circle Anglia, Resident Shareholders were involved in a number of consultation meetings, where they listened to information about the group, had their questions answered and met members of staff and residents from Circle Anglia.
Many shareholders and members of Mercian’s Residents Forum also took the opportunity to travel down to London to see how Mercian can fit in with the group.
This consultation, along with significant input from Mercian employees, helped us to choose Circle Anglia from a variety of potential partners.
