Pilot Programme 2004-2007 Review - Taking the Path from Grants to Loans (by Richard Groves)
Stopping the Rot - Removing Financial Barriers to Homeowner Maintenance and Repairs
This report was conducted in 2000 as a base for the creation of AHL. It explores the scope for developing a community loan fund and other mutual investment mechanisms to tackle the micro-financing needs of low and moderate income homeowners.
Delivering Decent Homes in the Private Sector (2005)
This report details research undertaken into the possibilities that a model such as the Mercian-AHL arrangement can present in regeneration activities. Funded by an Innovation and Good Practice Grant, it aims to provide evidence that a model such as this can assist Local Authorities to lever in private finance to provide suitable loan packages to bring private sector properties up to the decent homes standard.
Faith Loan
This piece of research follows research undertaken in delivering decent homes for the private sector which identified a need for an affordable finance product to comply with religious laws on lending. This project funded by Barclays aims to complete the legal work associated with such a loan and ensure FSA and CCA compliance to before making it available to our partners.
