How to use Mercian’s website
Mercian’s website is designed to provide all users with access, whatever their ability. Below are some of the initiatives we have used to make our website more accessible and easy to use.
Text Only
A text only option can be chosen through your browser settings. By doing this you can view the website in high contrast and without graphics and pictures. To do this go to your Internet Explorer browser tool bar. The tool bar appears under the address bar in Internet Explorer. Click on:
Tools > Internet Options > Accessibility
You can set Internet Explorer to ignore colours, font styles & sizes and images by ticking the boxes.
Font Size
Font size can be changed by changing your browser settings to your preference. To do this click on:
View > Text Size > choose Large, Medium or Small
Tab Indexing
Our website enables tab indexing, which makes tabbing through our site easier if you are accessing the site using a keyboard only. See tab order below -

Links & Images
All links are labelled in context to enable screen readers to identify where a link will take a user. All images have alternative text (ALT-tags) which give a description of non-text elements.
